L’empreinte du visage donne à voir en creux le relief indemne ou le trou de la défiguration que la coulée en plâtre, en silicone, en cire restituera, figée, dans ses trois dimensions.
L’empreinte devient alors trace, témoin, mémoire, elle peut être aussi emprunt et se transformer sous les mains de l’artisan en épithèse, sous les mains de l’artiste en œuvre d’art.

A face print provides a hollow reflection of the intact contours with the hole or disfigurement, that a plaster, silicone or wax cast reproduces, gelled in three dimensions.
The print of the face reveals its intact relief in an engraving, or the hole of the disfigurement that the plaster or silicone or wax mould will reconstruct, frozen, in its three dimensions.
The print then becomes its trace, its testimony, its memory. It can also be used and transformed in the hands of the artisan into an epithesis, or a work of art in the hands of the artist.
